Outer space research project published in Cloud Ten, 2016, by Springer. A concept development for building a self-sustainaining habitable colony on Venus, to solve the depletion of natural material resource catastrophy and predicted natural catalisms which will cause the end of life on Earth.

MATERIAL STRATEGY

materials already existing on Venus are abundant to create self-sustaining life cycles, for which appropriate industrial machinery needs to be built in situ. The only thing to be brought might be genetically modified bacteria to perform energy generation functions. We could mine for the following elements naturally abundant in the soil and core, or would be able to extract them from the atmosphere of Venus: 

CO2, H2SO4 + SO4 highly corrosive, SO2 toxic gas, H, N, C, S atmospheric volatiles mixture in upper layers – Venus ‘air’ is a lifting gas because of O2 : N ratio = 21 : 78. Water available from ‘ice’-like materials covering volcanoes and possibly also in intermediate atmospheric levels and in mantle. Oxygen to be separated from CO2 (and SO4) by electrolysis and Sabatier process. Hydrogen reaped by condensing atmospheric Sulphuric acid droplets. Curious?
